Dear St. Emily Families:
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! As the new principal of St. Emily, let me be the first to
share with you how excited all of us are to begin a new year full of engaged students, rigorous
instruction, and joyful learning. Your children are in excellent hands and we are so fortunate to
have such a strong, dedicated school community here.
I am honored to have been selected to serve as your principal. Over the past month, I have had
the opportunity to learn about the school from Father Presta, staff, parents, and students. I am
humbled by a shared purpose which has guided my leadership: a relentless commitment to
putting children at the center of our work in education.
Having recently received my second Master’s degree from DePaul University, I am eager to
bring my skills as an educational leader to St. Emily. The faith based education your child(ren)
receive at St. Emily will help guide them in their development, both intellectually and
morally/ethically. St. Emily is a strong community of virtue where responsibility, hard work,
honesty and kindness are modeled, taught, expected, celebrated and continually practiced.
The foundation of my vision for St. Emily is simple: ‘the ultimate goal of Catholic education is to
form young people who will develop into global citizens, loving God, their neighbors, enriching
society with the leaven of the Gospel, and continue to be the future of our shared Catholic faith.
In the short time I have been here, I have witnessed a passion for learning (can’t wait to see
those ducklings hatch!), beautiful smiles on children and an excitement for a new year and a
chance to SOAR to be more!
